Regret not the past.
Rather, be grateful for how it shaped your present.
For the past was the road to now.
There is now no other way than the road taken,
And any other path may well have led astray.
If you must look back,
Look not for failures and wrong turns.
Rather, look for lessons and insights,
For changes and growth.
Look for the you who once was
The better to love the you who now is.

Look where you were
Only to see how far you’ve come.
Now, know how far you still can go.
You’re back! 🙂 And this is beautiful.
Thank you for birthing it. It is a welcome signpost at a crossroad and a helpful insight on how to view the journey so far.
Thanks, Antoinette.
I’m laughing at myself, though. Today I’m being tested by the past. Interesting that yesterday I reminded myself how to look back and today I am forced to.
Sounds like your inner-man is functioning perfectly, preparing you for what life has up its sleeve …..very often a test if we walk the talk ;-). Hope you passed the test(?).
Yes, Peter, this is beautiful, that coming from someone who was indeed tested herself this past couple of days (and still faces the challenge of allowing herself to be vulnerable and fragile)
I think I wrote this somewhere else, but…
Today, I’m not trying to get somewhere else, I’m focusing on being aware of where I am now. Willing to stay with my confusion and conflict long enough to allow a deeper truth to emerge
