This poem began with just the first line and the idea that being a spiritual being comes down to ‘bridging the gaps’ between body, mind and soul. As three became one, One grew into a paean to the ongoing global spiritual awakening.
Spirituality is not found in an astrological chart
Nor by whispering prayers into the night
Enlightenment does not lay at the end
Of a pilgrimmage and its thousand steps
Even the words of ancient masters
Cannot bring Perfection
To discover divinity
Mend the wounds between
Mind, body and spirit
Until three become one
Three become one
Then one becomes one with all
Knowing it was always so
Thus the purpose of every being
First one from three
Then all from one
Until all are one
When there is but one
All is love
And childhood ends
