Light and Shadow ~ The Place Where We’re All One

Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be.

The words below, Light and Shadow, weren’t so much inspired by the Martin Luther King, Jr. quote to the right, but as I began typing out a comment on the Facebook post it was attached to, these words came out instead.
The MLK quote reminds me of the Hindi word, Namaste, which is often interpreted in ways similar to this quote. For example:
I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light and of peace. When you and I are both in that place within ourselves, we are one.

Chicrets and Chi Balls

A few years ago I attended a seminar called Chicrets which was something of an “Introduction to Experiencing Chi” (Chi being the Chinese term for what you might call “life force”.) It was informative, instructive and rather surprising.

After a few simple exercises designed to help us recognize the sensations in our bodies that signal the presence of Chi, and a few more to show how we could move the sensations — and so, our Chi — around our body at will, the leader taught us how to form “Chi Balls”. It’s sort of like scooping up some of that energy from your body and compacting it like a snow ball in your hands.
